Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a 4-day locum tenens assignment in South Dakota. This opportunity begins on Jan 1, 2026, with 24-hour shifts and requires the provider to serve as the sole practitioner in the emergency department. Candidates with rural emergency department and sole provider experience are preferred.Job Details

Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as the sole provider in the emergency department
- Round on patients in the ED
- Stabilize patients for transfer as needed
Additional Information
- South Dakota license required
- Board certifications accepted: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Urgent Care
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
- Experience in rural ED and as a sole provider is preferred
- Utilizes an EMR system other than Aspen
