Job Description

Our client, a critical access facility located in West Virginia, has requested the help of a locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician a 7-day assignment beginning July 24, 2025. Applicants should be board-certified in Family Medicine and have experience in rural emergency medicine and be proficient in a wide range of procedures. For this role, the MD will be working 12-hour shifts, covering both day (5AM - 5PM) and night (5PM - 5AM) hours, with a preference for night shifts. Responsibilities including stabilizing and transferring patients, as well as monitoring those who cannot be immediately transferred.

Shift Details:

  • 12-hour shifts, covering both day (5A - 5P) and night (5P - 5A) shifts.

Requirements:

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine with a preference for FP boards.
  • Must have experience in rural ER settings.
  • Comfortable performing a wide range of procedures as the only provider on site.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications are required.


Duties Include:

  • Providing comprehensive emergency care in a setting without specialized teams such as stroke, cardio, neuro, or trauma.
  • Working in an environment where advanced imaging such as MRI might not be available, and the availability of CAT scans and ultrasounds can vary.
