Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Endodontist for a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in California. This position begins on Aug 4, 2025, and extends through the rest of the year, offering a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM. The successful candidate will focus on advanced endodontic procedures in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Diagnose diseases and injuries of the dental pulp and periapical tissues
• Perform root canal treatments to save natural teeth
• Treat dental pain related to pulp inflammation or infection
• Evaluate and interpret dental radiographs and advanced imaging (e.g., CBCT scans)
• Perform endodontic retreatment on teeth with failing prior root canals
• Conduct surgical endodontic procedures (e.g., apicoectomy) when necessary
• Manage traumatic dental injuries involving tooth roots and pulp
• Counsel patients about treatment options, procedures, risks, and post-op care
• Collaborate with general dentists and other dental specialists for comprehensive care
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols in the dental operatory

Additional Information

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• No DEA certification required as narcotics are not prescribed
• Experience in Indian Health Services or rural health settings considered a plus
