Job Description
We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Alaska, starting on Dec 14, 2025. This role involves day shifts, Monday through Friday, with additional weeknight and weekend on-call duties. Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients; perform physical examinations; obtain, update, and study medical histories.
- Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
- Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Additional Information
- Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
- Must possess Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Must be licensed in the state of Alaska
- Experience: At least 2 years, preferably with experience in being the sole provider
- EMR Used: Cerner
