Job Description

We are seeking a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Alaska. This opportunity begins on Mar 2, 2026, and features a Monday through Friday day shift, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with rotational Saturday coverage every 4–6 weeks. The provider will join a new urgent care clinic and will work with diverse patient populations. Candidates with urgent care, IHS/tribal or rural experience, and pediatric or OBGYN background are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide comprehensive urgent care services in a new clinic setting
  • Deliver care to a diverse patient population, including adults and children
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions within the scope of urgent care
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
  • Document all patient encounters using Cerner EMR
  • Adhere to all clinic protocols and standards of care

Additional Information
  • Must hold an active Nurse Practitioner license in Alaska
  • Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
  • Board certification in Family Medicine required
  • Experience with IHS/tribal, rural, pediatric, or OBGYN care is a plus
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
