Job Description

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Oct 20, 2025. This position features weekday day shifts, Monday through Friday, providing primary care to patients of all ages and supporting pain management cases in a busy outpatient setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide primary care to patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics
  • Manage a diverse patient panel with a mix of routine and pain management cases (approximately 100 enrolled pain management patients)
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with DEA regulations
  • Utilize Epic EMR for all patient documentation and care coordination
  • Deliver care in accordance with state and federal guidelines and best practices


Additional Information

  • Active California state license and DEA certification required
  • Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) required
  • Minimum 2 years of primary care experience
  • Must be comfortable caring for all age groups and managing pain cases (no x-waiver needed)
  • Three-week credentialing process for an extremely ASAP start
