Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Feb 16, 2026. This position features day shifts from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, in a busy clinic environment. Candidates must have recent family practice experience, active California licensure, and hold a current DEA with furnishing license.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver primary care services in a high-volume clinic setting
  • Provide care for a predominantly adult patient population, with a strong emphasis on family medicine
  • Serve a patient base that is approximately 75% Spanish speaking, supported by translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants
  • Manage a high proportion of Medical/Medicaid patients (approximately 78%)
  • Utilize Epic EMR for all patient documentation and records
  • Adhere to clinic protocols and quality standards

Additional Information
  • Locum experience is required
  • Experience in FQHC, rural health, or IHS settings is preferred
  • Recent experience must be in a family practice setting (internal medicine and pediatrics experience alone will not be accepted)
  • Active California DEA and furnishing license required
  • Required board certification: Family Medicine
