Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide primary medical care during scheduled clinic times, unscheduled visits, and on-call after hours.
- Perform initial and yearly physical examinations of extended care patients.
- Handle the evaluation and treatment of patients with complex medical and psychiatric issues.
- Offer expert medical consultation to attending psychiatrists and nursing staff.
- Complete required documentation and reports in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Provide medical clinic leadership as directed by the Medical Director.
- Consult with a range of professionals to make informed patient care decisions.
- Participate in treatment team functions and hospital committees as needed.
- Engage in continuing education and training for staff.
