Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide primary medical care during scheduled clinic times, unscheduled visits, and on-call after hours.
• Perform initial and yearly physical examinations of extended care patients.
• Handle the evaluation and treatment of patients with complex medical and psychiatric issues.
• Offer expert medical consultation to attending psychiatrists and nursing staff.
• Complete required documentation and reports in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Provide medical clinic leadership as directed by the Medical Director.
• Consult with a range of professionals to make informed patient care decisions.
• Participate in treatment team functions and hospital committees as needed.
• Engage in continuing education and training for staff.
