Job Description

We are seeking a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day assignment in North Carolina, starting Mar 9, 2026. This role primarily involves delivering comprehensive primary care for children and adults, preventative health services, and managing routine medical conditions, with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:45 pm.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations
  • Provide primary care for children and adults
  • Deliver gynecological care and prenatal care
  • Perform various screenings and administer immunizations (seasonal, routine, and travel vaccines)
  • Offer maternal health services and mother-baby home visiting
  • Engage in farmworker health initiatives and case management
  • Conduct outreach activities and address behavioral health needs
  • Manage communicable diseases and provide family planning services
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order medications, and maintain healthcare plans
  • Counsel patients and families on health maintenance, preventive medicine, and illness care
  • Coordinate with the healthcare team to implement patient care plans
  • Manage routine, recurring medical conditions in generalized or specialized areas
  • Perform clinical functions according to established medical protocols and guidelines
  • Apply judgment to determine appropriate courses of action within the legal scope of practice


Additional Information

  • EMR: Athenahealth
  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina
  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Possess strong knowledge of interviewing techniques, general medicine, and disease states, with the ability to detect abnormalities and accurately record clinical findings
  • Work in strict collaboration with a supervising physician, who must be immediately available for consultation
  • Flexibility to travel to a secondary clinic site once or twice weekly, with hours from 12 pm to 8 pm on those days
