We are seeking an experienced Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California beginning Oct 13, 2025. This full-time opportunity offers day shifts from 8am to 5pm, with the potential for a 4-10s schedule and a random weekday off. Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive care to patients in a Family Practice setting
- Manage a patient panel with 75 percent Spanish-speaking individuals, with support from translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants
- Deliver care to a population with a high percentage (78 percent) of Medical/Medicaid patients
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using the Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with clinical and support staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
- Adhere to all clinical protocols and compliance standards
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in daily scheduling and patient care needs
Additional Information
- Locum experience is required
- Prior FQHC, Rural Health, or IHS experience preferred
- Most recent experience must be in a Family Practice setting; Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics experience will not be accepted
- Active California license, DEA, and furnishing license required
- Board certification in Family Medicine required
- Spanish language skills are helpful but not required due to support staff availability
