Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California starting Oct 20, 2025. This role offers Monday through Friday day shifts, caring for patients of all ages and managing a mix of primary care and pain management cases. The ideal candidate will be comfortable seeing a diverse patient population and possess a current California license and DEA certification.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct primary care visits for patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics
  • Manage and treat pain management cases (no x-waiver required; approximately 100 patients enrolled)
  • See an average of 14-18 patients per day
  • Deliver comprehensive care across a broad spectrum of acute and chronic conditions
  • Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation and workflow
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements


Additional Information

  • Minimum 2 years of primary care experience required
  • Current California state license and DEA certification required
  • Must be comfortable treating all age groups and providing pain management services
  • Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) required
