Barton Associates is seeking a Family Practice Physician Assistant for a locum tenens position in Indiana. This 120-day assignment begins on 07/07/2025, with a potential for extension. The provider will work full-time with varying schedules: Monday and Wednesday from 8 AM to 7 PM (expected to work late one of these days), and Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive family medicine care, including treating acute and chronic conditions, performing physical examinations, offering preventative care, and managing medications. Key duties include patient education, specialist referrals, ensuring continuity of care, and collaborating with up to two other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide general family medicine care (cold, cough, flu, etc.)
• Manage chronic diseases (diabetes, heart conditions, etc.)
• Perform physical examinations
• Offer preventative care services
• Treat acute and long-term medical conditions
• Collaborate with up to two other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Manage medications
• Educate patients on home treatment
• Refer patients to specialists as needed
• Ensure continuity of care between visits
• Chart and document patient consultations in the EMR
• Participate in peer review activities
Additional Information:
• Indiana state Physician Assistant license required
• Familiarity with ECW (eClinicalWorks) electronic health record system preferred
