Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Family Practice Needed in MA

Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly skilled Family Practice Physician Assistant for an engaging 36-day locum tenens assignment with our client in Massachusetts, commencing Apr 20, 2026. This vital role involves delivering comprehensive outpatient primary care to a diverse patient population, including adults and pediatrics. You will be responsible for diagnosing and managing a range of acute and chronic conditions, performing routine wellness exams, and ordering diagnostic tests within a consistent 8:00am- 5:00pm daily schedule, which includes an hour for lunch.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to adult and pediatric patients
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and URI presentations
• Perform routine wellness exams, preventive screenings, and annual physicals
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
• Perform minor in office procedures such as suturing, lesion removal, and joint injections as applicable
• Collaborate with integrated behavioral health, dental, and care coordination teams
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR and complete charts in a timely manner
• Educate patients on disease management, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications
• Participate in team huddles and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed
