We are seeking a Family Practice Physician Assistant for a four-month locum tenens assignment in Montana. This opportunity begins on Sep 29, 2025, and involves a Monday through Friday schedule with on-call responsibilities. The ideal candidate will provide primary medical care, including both scheduled and unscheduled patient visits, and offer after-hours on-call support.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide primary medical care during scheduled clinic times, rounds on clinical units, and unscheduled unit visits.
• Conduct initial and yearly physical examinations of extended care patients.
• Evaluate and treat patients with complex medical and psychiatric problems.
• Offer expert medical consultation to attending psychiatrists and nursing staff.
• Provide after-hours on-call primary medical coverage.
• Complete documentation, write reports, and conduct evaluations as required by hospital policies and regulations.
• Lead the medical clinic under the direction of the Medical Director.
• Consult with a range of professionals to make informed patient care decisions.
• Participate in unit and hospital treatment team functions.
• Serve on hospital committees and maintain liaison with community health professionals.

Additional Information

• Must be licensed in Montana.
• Experience in a state hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to manage a high on-call duty schedule.
