Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 13-week locum tenens assignment in New York, starting Jan 5, 2026. This full-time day shift opportunity runs Monday through Friday and provides coverage in a high-volume primary care setting with a supportive office staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive care to scheduled patients in a Family Medicine practice
  • Conduct patient visits in 15 and 30 minute increments, averaging 20 patients per day
  • Work independently on days without on-site physician support, with phone access to supervising physician
  • Collaborate with office support staff and an experienced LPN
  • Complete administrative duties, typically on Wednesdays, with flexibility as needed
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and adherence to practice protocols


Additional Information

  • Must hold an active New York Physician Assistant license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Board certification in Family Medicine required
  • Previous experience in rural health and ability to work independently preferred
