Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 65-day locum tenens assignment at a medium security facility in Pennsylvania. This full-time opportunity starts on Dec 15, 2025, with day shifts scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a correctional setting, performing a broad range of clinical duties in sick call, chronic care, preventative care, trauma triage, and medication management.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct sick call evaluations and patient rounding
  • Manage chronic and preventative care procedures and follow-ups
  • Lead preventative care clinics
  • Perform infirmary rounds for internal medicine cases as needed
  • Provide trauma triage services
  • Complete accurate and timely charting notes
  • Handle medication refills and monitor patient medication compliance
  • Participate in morning PA/NP lines for tasks such as suture removal and follow-ups


Additional Information

  • Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Correctional healthcare experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (Other)
