Job Description

We are seeking a Family Practice Physician for a locum tenens role in California. This full-scope primary care position begins on Sep 1, 2025, offering a 96-day contract with day shifts from Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will manage a variety of cases including acute care, behavioral health, and outpatient follow-up for substance abuse, with a strong preference for Spanish-speaking capabilities to effectively serve our diverse patient population.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services in an outpatient setting.
  • Manage acute care needs such as cold, cough, and flu symptoms.
  • Address behavioral health issues and follow up on outpatient substance abuse treatments.
  • Serve a diverse patient demographic, including geriatric and adult patients, women's health, and LGBTQIA+ community for HIV and Prep testing.
  • Utilize Athenahealth EMR system to document and manage patient information.


Additional Information

  • Board certification in Family Practice preferred.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Must hold a valid California medical license.
