Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician for an impactful 150-day assignment in California. Commencing on Apr 13, 2026, this role involves providing essential outpatient primary care to patients of all ages, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, preventive care, and health screenings. The schedule follows standard daily shifts, typically from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide outpatient primary care to patients of all ages in a tribal community health clinic
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, respiratory illness, and minor injuries
- Conduct routine wellness visits, preventive care, and health screenings
- Manage chronic disease treatment plans and medication management
- Perform minor in-office procedures (laceration repair, incision and drainage, joint injections, basic dermatologic procedures as needed)
- Order and interpret lab tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
- Collaborate with behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, and specialty providers within the clinic system
- Provide patient education focused on preventive care and lifestyle management
- Document encounters accurately in the EMR system and complete required clinical documentation
- Participate in care coordination and referrals to outside specialists when needed
- Support the clinic’s community health and culturally competent care initiatives within the Hoopa Valley population
