Locum Tenens Physician - Family Practice Needed in VA

Job Description

Our client in Virginia is seeking a Family Practice Physician for a 72-day assignment starting Apr 1, 2026. This role involves a schedule of Fridays and Mondays from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturdays from 8 AM to 3 PM. The Physician will perform physical exams, order or perform diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, develop treatment plans, and treat acute and chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform physical exams.
• Order or perform diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications.
• Develop treatment plans.
• Treat acute and chronic illnesses.
• Manage family practice cases including colds and coughs, hypertension, UTIs, STIs, and sports physicals.
• Address urgent care-type visits, such as lacerations, minor injuries and trauma, suturing, and ingrown toenail removal.
• Handle occasional women’s health cases, including Pap smears.
• Utilize on-site services including X-ray, ultrasound, and a full laboratory.
