Job Description

We are seeking a Gastroenterology Physician Assistant for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Dec 1, 2025. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with day shifts from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will have experience in outpatient GI and paracentesis, and be prepared to provide high-quality care in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide outpatient gastroenterology care to adult patients
  • Perform paracentesis procedures as required
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage gastrointestinal conditions under the supervision of a gastroenterologist
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Adhere to established clinical protocols and standards

Additional Information
  • Active California license required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certifications required
  • Board certifications in Family Medicine, Gastroenterology, or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (A-GNP) are accepted
  • Candidates credentialed with KP SCAL may be considered for expedited start
