Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - General Needed in NY

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced General Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in New York, starting Mar 2, 2026. The schedule offers weekday day shifts (either Monday-Friday or Monday-Thursday) with occasional weeknight and weekend call. The assignment requires board certification, recent Epic experience, and the ability to manage trauma and general/robotic surgery cases.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm or Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm; weeknight and weekend call as needed

Responsibilities and Duties

• First assist in the operating room for general and robotic surgery cases
• Provide trauma care at a Level III trauma center
• Cover floor duties if present for an extended period
• Participate in weekend rounding and call nights as required
• Manage increased call shifts during the first week of April due to vacation schedules

Additional Information

• Must be board certified in General Surgery
• Active New York license required
• Recent Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
• Orthopedic experience is a plus
