Job Description

Our client in New York is seeking a skilled General Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 4-day assignment starting Jun 2, 2026. This role involves serving as first assist in the operating room, covering Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM, and one night of call per week. The successful candidate will manage a variety of surgical cases and provide comprehensive medical-surgical floor coverage, including daily rounds and patient management.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as first assist in the operating room.
  • Cover Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM, with one night of call per week.
  • Handle cases including robotics (Da Vinci), OB (c sections), lumpectomies, hernias, laparoscopy, gallbladder, and appendix procedures.
  • Assignments will include a combination of Surgical First Assist Operating Room time and Medical Surgical Floor coverage.
  • Medical Surgical Floor coverage includes daily rounding and progress notes, managing orders, admissions, discharges, and consults.
  • Work primarily with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients.
