Locum Tenens Physician - General Surgeon Needed in MO

Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible General Surgeon licensed in Missouri for a 90-day locum tenens assignment. This opportunity begins on Mar 23, 2026, and features 24-hour call shifts from 8am to 8am, with weekend and possible occasional weekday coverage. The surgeon will provide a broad range of adult, pediatric, and trauma procedures in a trauma facility utilizing the Epic EMR system.

• Schedule: 8am-8am call shifts; weekends without coverage and possible occasional weekday shifts

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform general surgery for adult, pediatric, neonate, and trauma patients
• Conduct laparoscopic procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication
• Provide head and neck surgery, chest wall and pleural procedures, and breast surgery
• Manage obstetric and gynecologic surgery as required
• Conduct liver surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy
• Handle minor orthopedic and hand surgery cases
• Manage ventilation, chest tube insertion, and central line insertion
• Place PA catheters and perform vascular surgery
• Provide plastic and pediatric surgery procedures

Additional Information

• Missouri medical license required
• Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
