Locum Tenens Physician - General Surgeon Needed in NM

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled General Surgeon for a 60-day assignment in New Mexico, starting Jul 1, 2026. The schedule involves 8a-5p shifts with 24-hour call on weeknights and weekends. This physician will manage a variety of cases including scopes, laparoscopies, gallbladder, and appendix procedures, as well as patient stabilization for transport and providing support for OBGYN C-sections.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform a majority of cases involving upper and lower scopes.
• Execute laparoscopies, gallbladder, and appendix procedures.
• Stabilize and prepare patients for transport when needed, particularly in situations without a trauma surgeon on staff.
• Assist the OB team during C-sections, being present for support without performing the procedure.
