Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified General Surgeon for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in Vermont beginning Dec 9, 2025. This opportunity features 24-hour out-of-house call coverage, delivery responsibilities, and patient rounding, with the provider stationed within 30 minutes of the hospital.

  • Schedule: 24-hour out-of-house call coverage from 8AM to 8AM; coverage needed for select dates in December

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide 24-hour out-of-house call coverage for surgical services
  • Conduct deliveries and patient rounding as required
  • Remain within 30 minutes of the hospital while on call
  • Respond promptly to call requests and emergencies
  • Utilize Meditech EHR for patient documentation and workflow

Additional Information
  • Active Vermont medical license required
  • No malpractice history
  • Board certification in Surgery required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Minimum a few years post-residency experience strongly preferred
  • Must be comfortable managing both upper and lower surgical cases
