Job Description

We are seeking a Gynecological Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity starts Jan 2, 2026, and offers day shifts, Monday through Friday (4 shifts a week). The role focuses on ambulatory gynecologic oncology, including chemotherapy and biotherapy prescribing, and requires demonstrated recent experience administering chemotherapy/biotherapy.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams as needed
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within specialty
  • Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions
  • Administer and prescribe chemotherapy and biotherapy
  • Conduct arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
  • Provide debridement and care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures
  • Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
  • Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
  • Assess intrapartum, antepartum, and postpartum patients in both complicated and uncomplicated scenarios
  • Perform colposcopy with or without biopsies
  • Evaluate and treat common vaginal infections
  • Interpret fetal heart monitor and tracing
  • Insert and remove intrauterine devices (IUDs) and subcutaneous birth control
  • Initiate pharmacologic therapy for general gynecologic and obstetric health needs
  • Perform endometrial, vaginal, and vulvar biopsies
  • Screen and refer for other health problems, including suspected sexual abuse or rape
  • Screen for high-risk pregnancies, pregnancy complications, and postpartum complications

Additional Information
  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in New York
  • Required certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
  • Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications required
  • Must demonstrate current competence with at least 10 chemotherapy/biotherapy administrations in the past 12 months
  • Orientation begins Jan 2, 2026; clinical duties commence Jan 5, 2026
