Job Description

We are seeking a Gynecological Oncology Physician Assistant for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This role begins Jan 2, 2026, with orientation followed by clinical work starting Jan 5, 2026. Enjoy a Monday-Friday schedule with 8:00-18:00 shifts, focusing on ambulatory gyn oncology and women's health.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams when indicated
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within scope of specialty
  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy (must have performed at least 10 administrations in the past 12 months)
  • Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriate
  • Conduct arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
  • Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures
  • Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
  • Incise and drain superficial abscesses
  • Perform urinary bladder catheterization (short term and indwelling)
  • Perform venous punctures for blood sampling, cultures, and IV catheterization
  • Assess and manage intrapartum, antepartum, and postpartum patients, including high-risk pregnancies
  • Conduct colposcopy and biopsies
  • Interpret fetal heart monitoring and tracings
  • Insert and remove intrauterine devices (IUDs) and subcutaneous birth control
  • Initiate pharmacologic therapy for general gynecologic and obstetric health needs
  • Perform endometrial, vaginal, and vulvar biopsies
  • Screen and refer for other health problems, including suspected sexual abuse and pregnancy complications
  • Act as surgical first assistant, including tissue closure/cautery and other delegated actions under physician supervision
  • Insert Foley catheter to cervix for vaginal delivery
  • Perform deliveries under direct supervision

Additional Information
  • Must hold a current New York license
  • Required certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Experience with chemotherapy/biotherapy administration required (minimum 10 cases in prior 12 months)
  • Preferred board certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
