Job Description

Barton is seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in gynecology for a 48-day locum tenens assignment in Maryland. This position starts on Dec 8, 2025, and features a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday schedule with 10-hour day shifts. The selected locum will be covering inpatient GYN and outpatient office hours. The role focuses exclusively on gynecological care without deliveries or obstetrical management.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide inpatient gynecology coverage, including acute and chronic care management
  • Manage complications during pregnancy and postpartum (excluding deliveries)
  • Treat gynecological conditions and address women's health concerns
  • Conduct GYN consults as needed
  • Perform morning and evening rounds (2 hours total daily)
  • No deliveries or obstetrical care beyond pregnancy diagnosis and early management

Additional Information

  • Active Maryland Nurse Practitioner license required
  • Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) board certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Previous experience in inpatient gynecology preferred
