Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Hematology/Oncology Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 260-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Nov 3, 2025. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with daytime hours and the opportunity to work independently within a collaborative outpatient team environment.

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, either 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities and Duties

• Function as an independent provider within a multidisciplinary team in an outpatient setting
• Manage comprehensive care for both new patient consultations and follow-up appointments
• Counsel and educate patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and symptom management
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in electronic medical records
• Demonstrate advanced clinical judgment and strong problem-solving skills

Additional Information

• At least one year of Hematology/Oncology experience preferred; strong candidates with a passion for the field will be considered
• Must hold a valid and unrestricted California NP license
• Required education: Masters, DNP, or PhD in Nursing
• Current National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC)
• Current BLS Certification
• Furnishing license required
• Must obtain DEA license within 3 months of starting
