We are seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 65-day locum tenens assignment in New York. Responsibilities and Duties
Provide direct clinical care to hematology/oncology patients using evidence-based practice standards
Collaborate with supervising physician, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, including evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, procedures, referrals, and consultations
Perform approved therapeutic and diagnostic procedures based on patient clinical status
Refer to supervising physician when cases are outside scope of practice or as directed
Educate and counsel patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and preventive care
Serve as a role model for peers and healthcare team members
Participate in accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities
Additional Information
Must have an active New York NP license
Minimum 3 years of recent hematology/oncology experience required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) certification strongly preferred; board eligible candidates will be considered
