Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 13-week locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins Jan 2, 2026, with shifts from 7:00 to 19:30, primarily Monday through Friday, totaling 13 shifts per month. The assignment is based in an ambulatory breast medical oncology department, focusing on cancer and tumor care.Job Details

- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 07:00-19:30 (13 shifts per month; possible weekends if meeting shift minimum)
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess, diagnose, and manage care for patients with cancer and other benign or malignant tumors and diseases
- Promote health and protection from disease within the scope of practice
- Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams when appropriate
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities specific to specialty training and experience
- Implement therapeutic interventions for identified conditions
- Perform arterial punctures and blood gas sampling
- Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
- Complete death certificate protocols
- Remove central venous catheters
- Demonstrate competence in administering chemotherapy/biotherapy, with at least 10 administrations in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Must hold a current NY license
- Required certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Additional required certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
