Schedule: Monday-Friday, 07:00-19:30 (13 shifts per month; possible weekends if meeting shift minimum)
Responsibilities and Duties
Assess, diagnose, and manage care for patients with cancer and other benign or malignant tumors and diseases
Promote health and protection from disease within the scope of practice
Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams when appropriate
Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities specific to specialty training and experience
Implement therapeutic interventions for identified conditions
Perform arterial punctures and blood gas sampling
Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures
Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
Complete death certificate protocols
Remove central venous catheters
Demonstrate competence in administering chemotherapy/biotherapy, with at least 10 administrations in the past 12 months
Additional Information
Must hold a current NY license
Required certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
Additional required certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
