Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 13-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins with orientation on Jan 2, 2026, and clinical work starting Jan 5, 2026. The role features day shifts from 07:00 to 19:30, Monday through Friday, with a total of 13 shifts per month and the option to add weekends if minimum shifts are met. Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide inpatient hematology/oncology consultations
- Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage patients with various cancers and benign or malignant tumors
- Prescribe and administer chemotherapy and biotherapy
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within specialty scope
- Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
- Manage superficial wounds, including debridement, incision, and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or orogastric tubes
- Complete death certificate protocols
- Remove central venous catheters
Additional Information
- Must hold an active New York NP license
- Required board certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Required certifications: ARC-PA, ACLS, BCLS
- Must demonstrate recent competence in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration (minimum 10 cases in past 12 months)
