Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Radiation Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 20-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This role begins Jan 2, 2026, with orientation, followed by clinical work starting Jan 5, 2026. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, focusing on ambulatory hemophilia care.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage patients with ambulatory hemophilia and related hematology/oncology conditions
  • Promote health and disease protection within the designated patient age group as specified by specialty and New York State NP certification
  • Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams when indicated
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within specialty scope
  • Implement therapeutic interventions for appropriate conditions
  • Conduct arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
  • Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and perform minor superficial surgical procedures
  • Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
  • Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
  • Complete Death Certificate Protocols
  • Remove central venous catheters
  • Adhere to all unit and facility policies, including care in intensive care settings as permitted

Additional Information
  • Current New York NP license required
  • Must hold one of the following board certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
  • Required certifications: ARC-PA, ACLS, BCLS
  • Experience in hematology/oncology and ambulatory hemophilia management strongly preferred
  • Nurse Practitioners may not serve as admitting providers
