Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant for an exciting 75-day locum tenens assignment with our client in California, starting Jun 29, 2026. This vital role involves assisting physicians with follow-up appointments, meticulously reviewing labs prior to chemotherapy, and overseeing treatment plans. The schedule is typically 8a-5p, focusing on comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology cases including iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia, and lymphoma.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist physicians with follow-up appointments.
  • Review labs meticulously prior to chemotherapy.
  • Review treatment plans and sign appropriate orders.
  • Provide care for a diverse range of outpatient hematology oncology cases.
  • Manage conditions such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia, and lymphoma.
  • Focus primarily on hematology (approximately 30%) and oncology (approximately 70%).
  • No inpatient rounding is required for this position.
