 A healthcare facility in Connecticut is seeking a Physician Assistant specializing in Medical Oncology for a 104-day locum tenens assignment starting 08/04/2025. This role offers a flexible schedule of either four 10-hour days (Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday) or a 5-day work week. The position involves working in a busy practice with 8 oncologists, managing a patient load of 11-17 patients per day. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a well-equipped facility with infusion bays, exam rooms, and Linear Accelerators. Key responsibilities include providing care for medical oncology (70%) and hematology (30%) patients, collaborating with subspecialty clinics, and working alongside an experienced nursing staff in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide care for medical oncology (70%) and hematology (30%) patients

• Manage a daily patient load of 11-17 patients

• Collaborate with subspecialty clinics in Gynecologic Oncology, Hepatology, and Breast Surgery

• Utilize 18 infusion bays and 16 exam rooms for patient care

• Work with 2 Linear Accelerators for radiation therapy planning

• Coordinate patient care with a team of 8 oncologists

• Collaborate with experienced nursing staff in the infusion center

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EHR system

• Adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume oncology practice

• Provide comprehensive oncology care, excluding acute leukemia treatment


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed in Connecticut

• Experience in medical oncology and hematology required

• Familiarity with Epic EHR system preferred

• Partial schedule may be considered for exceptional candidates
