Responsibilities and Duties
Provide direct clinical care to hematology/oncology patients using evidence-based practice standards
Collaborate with supervising physician, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record of evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, procedures, referrals, and consultations
Perform approved therapeutic and diagnostic procedures based on patient clinical status
Refer to supervising physician as appropriate and when outside scope of practice
Educate and counsel patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and preventive care
Serve as a role model for peers and health care team members
Participate in accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities
Additional Information
Minimum 3 years of recent hematology/oncology experience required
Active New York state license required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
AOCNP certification preferred; board eligible candidates considered
