Locum Tenens Physician - Hematologist/Oncologist Needed in CA

Job Description

Our client in California is actively seeking a skilled Hematologist/Oncologist Physician for a 120-day assignment starting Mar 30, 2026. This role involves managing a balanced caseload of hematology and oncology patients, focusing on comprehensive patient evaluations, treatment planning, and delivering essential therapies like chemotherapy and infusions during shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage a diverse patient population with approximately 60% hematology and 40% oncology cases.
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and physical examinations.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans, including writing prescriptions.
• Provide detailed cancer information and patient education.
• Administer chemotherapy and infusions on site.
• Perform bone marrow biopsies (preferred, but not a mandatory requirement).
• Utilize an in-house pharmacy for patient care.

Additional Information

• Board Certification in Hematology and Medical Oncology is required.
• The EMR system utilized is McKesson.
