Job Description

We are actively recruiting a dedicated Hematologist/Oncologist for a 36-day locum tenens assignment in Ohio, commencing Feb 23, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive hematology and oncology care to 18-20 adult patients daily, including chemotherapy administration and treatment plan management. The schedule features Monday, Tuesday, and Friday clinic hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, complemented by weekday call coverage and one weekend call per month.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • See 18-20 adult patients per day in the Outpatient office.
  • Work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the last patient scheduled at 3:30 PM.
  • Manage a 50/50 mix of hematology and oncology cases.
  • Utilize APP support.
  • Administer chemotherapy and create/maintain treatment plans for oncology patients.
  • Write orders for chemotherapy.
  • Be available for calls from the chemotherapy nurse and to see patients in the infusion center for any negative reactions.
  • Provide daily infusion coverage from 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • Offer weekday call coverage on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 4 PM to 8 AM.
  • Provide weekend call coverage one time per month, from Friday 4 PM to Monday 8 AM, including handoffs.
  • Weekend call coverage includes both locations.
  • Handle general medical oncology cases, including chemotherapy and oral chemotherapy.
