Job Description

Our client in VA is seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in Hematology/Oncology for a 48-day assignment starting Jun 1, 2026. This role involves full-time coverage, either Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Friday, with typical shifts from 8 AM to 5 PM. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of Hematology/Oncology patients, including solid tumors, myeloma, and breast cancers, primarily focusing on follow-up appointments with some new patient consultations, along with participating in a rotating call schedule.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide full-time coverage, Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Friday.
  • Participate in a 1 in 5 or 6 weeks full-week call rotation, including 8 AM-5 PM clinic call until the next morning, and 4-8 hours of inpatient work and call on weekends.
  • Attend board meetings on GU, GYN, Thoracic, and Breast cases, typically one week at a time, required from 7 AM-8 AM.
  • Manage an average of 15-18 patient visits per day, typically including 2 new patients and the rest follow-ups.
  • Handle 80% Medical Oncology and 20% Hematology Oncology cases.
  • Treat solid tumors, myeloma, breast, GU, GYN, and thoracic cases.
  • Focus on follow-up patients and conduct new patient consultations.
  • Acute Leukemia cases are transferred out.
