Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Illinois. This opportunity begins on Nov 24, 2025, and features overnight shifts from 7p-7a across multiple hospital sites, providing nocturnist med surg coverage at critical access and trauma facilities.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide nocturnist hospitalist coverage for med surg patients at critical access and trauma hospitals
- Independently manage patient admissions and acute care overnight, with varying acuity and volume
- Operate as the sole provider at critical access locations with no staff support (Jacksonville and Lincoln sites)
- Manage 3-4 admits/night at higher acuity sites and 1-2 admits/night at lower acuity sites
- Collaborate with MD and APP teams at trauma level 1 facilities, supporting up to 10-12 admits/night
- Utilize Meditech, CPSI, Epic, and Cerner EMR systems as appropriate to each site
- Ensure high-quality patient care while adapting to different hospital protocols and EMR platforms
Additional Information
- Current Illinois nurse practitioner license required
- Hospitalist experience strongly preferred
- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work independently and confidently in critical access hospital settings
- Flexibility to rotate among multiple hospital sites and adapt to different EMR systems
