Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This role is designed for an APP who will manage an average daily patient census of 17-21, with typical responsibilities including managing admissions and responding to hospital codes. This position does not include critical care or emergency department backup duties. The assignment leverages the Epic EMR system and is set within a comprehensive medical team environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage a daily inpatient census of 17-21 patients
  • Handle 8-10 patients per APP per day
  • Manage 4-6 admissions during the day and 5-7 at night
  • Respond to hospital codes (non-ED)
  • Consult on patient holds in the Emergency Department
  • Coordinate care with a diverse medical team including General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cardiology, Orthopedics, ENT, Primary Care, and Oncology

Additional Information
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina
