Locum Tenens Physician - Hospitalist Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Physician for an exciting 40-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Jul 6, 2026. This role involves managing an open ICU, covering day shifts (7a-7p) and night shifts (7p-7a). Duties include an average day census of 85 and night census of 10, with day admits ranging from 10-15 and night admits from 6-12. The physician will handle cases such as arterial and central line insertions, intubation, EKG, and vent management.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage an open ICU environment.
• Collaborate with a team of 5 day providers, 1 swing provider, and 1 night provider.
• Oversee an average day census of 85 patients and a night census of 10 patients.
• Manage average daily admissions of 10-15 and nightly admissions of 6-12.
• Perform Arterial Line Insertion procedures.
• Perform Central Line Insertion procedures.
• Perform Intubation procedures.
• Interpret EKGs.
• Provide Vent Management.

Additional Information

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine is required.
• EMR System: Epic.
