Job Description

We are seeking a Hospitalist Physician for a 77-day assignment in Kentucky, starting Mar 30, 2026. This nocturnist role involves 7p-7a shifts, focusing on overnight admissions, rounding, general ICU cases, and ensuring smooth patient handoffs. The physician will be crucial in managing acute patient needs and supporting the facility's continuous care model.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage 5-10 admissions per night
  • Perform rounding duties for assigned patients
  • Oversee general ICU cases, with pulm on call handling vents as needed
  • Collaborate with the Emergency Department for intubations as required
  • Provide nocturnist hospital coverage
  • Admit patients directly from the Emergency Department
  • Handle initial admits for family medicine patients, facilitating transfer to Family Services
  • Manage overnight patient care and ensure comprehensive morning handoffs to either family medicine or internal medicine teams
  • Note that surgical residents perform central lines
