Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist for a locum tenens assignment in New York beginning Nov 18, 2025. This 28-day opportunity involves night shifts (7p-7a) working a 7 on/7 off schedule, with support from residents and no procedures required. The role primarily focuses on inpatient care in a closed ICU setting, ideal for board-certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians who are adept at managing admissions and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage inpatient census of 6-8 patients per night in a closed ICU
  • Admit 2-4 new patients per night
  • Work collaboratively with residents; delegate and oversee tasks as appropriate
  • Coordinate patient handoffs with mid-shift hospitalist (3p-3a) and receive acclimation support from the medical director during initial days (3a-7a)
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation in Epic EMR
  • Provide high-quality patient care without performing procedures

Additional Information
  • Must hold an active New York medical license
  • Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Orientation scheduled for Nov 17, 2025, from 10am to 1pm
  • Previous experience with Epic preferred
