Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for a variety of general hospital cases
• Conduct daily rounds on assigned patients
• Manage new admissions and follow up on overnight admits
• Perform patient evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
• Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare professionals as needed
• Check on inpatient rehab therapy patients every three days (7-patient unit)
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Epic EMR
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Ensure smooth transitions of care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as required
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
• Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine preferred
• Experience as a hospitalist required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system a plus
