We are seeking a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Rhode Island. This position starts on Jan 5, 2026, and spans 120 days, offering day shifts from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The role primarily serves adult patients in a long-term care hospital environment with a patient population that includes low acuity cases, dementia, distal muscular dystrophy, and traumatic brain injury.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide primary medical care to adult patients, ranging from 19 to 70s, in a long-term care setting
• Manage a patient census with a focus on low acuity, including those with dementia, distal muscular dystrophy, and traumatic brain injury
• Conduct routine assessments and ongoing management of chronic and acute medical conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans and support patient needs
• Document patient care thoroughly in compliance with facility protocols and standards

Additional Information

• Rhode Island Nurse Practitioner license required
• Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required
• Experience with adult patients in post-acute, long-term, or skilled nursing settings is preferred
• No ICU responsibilities
