Locum Tenens Physician - Internal Medicine Needed in CA

 We are seeking a skilled Internal Medicine Physician for a 40-day locum tenens assignment at a Clinic in California, starting 06/16/2025. This dynamic role involves a mix of outpatient primary care at an FQHC, supervision of an on-site Nurse Practitioner, and rounding/admissions at a local Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The schedule is flexible, requiring at least 3 days per week (Monday-Friday) from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the option to complete hours in 3 days or spread them out. Responsibilities include direct patient care, NP supervision with chart reviews, and SNF visits. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with diverse clinical settings and efficient in using eClinicalWorks EMR and dictation systems.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide primary care services at an FQHC clinic

• Supervise on-site Nurse Practitioner, including 10% chart review (NP typically sees 20 patients/day)

• Conduct rounds and manage admissions at a local Skilled Nursing Facility

• Perform patient examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans

• Manage chronic diseases and provide preventive care

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using eClinicalWorks EMR

• Utilize dictation systems for efficient documentation

• Ensure high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings

• Adapt to the varying needs of outpatient and SNF environments

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in California

• Experience in both outpatient and SNF settings is preferred
