Job Description
Our client in Michigan is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician for a 60-day assignment, beginning May 4, 2026. This role involves an initial five-day in-office schedule, transitioning to a hybrid model of three in-office days and two telehealth days, with shifts from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Physician will deliver comprehensive clinical care to elderly patients, manage complex medical cases, provide leadership, oversee program and system management, and contribute to community development.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive clinical care for elderly patients.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribing necessary medications, vaccines, and treatments.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests.
- Monitor chronic diseases and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Perform physical examinations and procedures.
- Offer preventive care and health counseling.
- Refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
- Document patient visits accurately in medical records.
- Manage complex elderly cases, including those with long-term chronic conditions, and care for frail or medically complex seniors.
- Coordinate care across various settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, pharmacies, and specialist offices.
- Provide leadership, including supervision of physicians, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff.
- Contribute to the creation and updating of clinical policies.
- Review patient grievances and appeals.
- Participate in quality improvement programs.
- Engage in program and system management, monitoring healthcare utilization for hospital stays, medications, and specialist referrals.
- Analyze outcomes to enhance care quality.
- Collaborate with hospitals, insurers, and care networks.
- Represent the program in professional meetings.
- Contribute to community and program development by educating the community about program offerings.
- Build partnerships with hospitals and healthcare organizations.
- Advocate for services benefiting older adults.
