Locum Tenens Physician - Interventional Cardiologist Needed in CA

 We are seeking a skilled Interventional Cardiologist for a locum tenens position in California through Barton Associates. This 100-day assignment begins on 07/07/2025, and requires expertise in emergency interventional cardiology procedures, including stents, catheterization, and angioplasty. The ideal candidate will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with 24-hour call on weekdays and some weekends (14 shifts/month). A 7-on/7-off rotating schedule is strongly preferred to match with the permanent provider. The physician will handle STEMI call coverage, manage 2-4 STEMIs from ER/clinic per day, and provide inpatient consults and outpatient clinic appointments. Proficiency with Cerner software is required. This opportunity offers the potential for extension beyond the initial assignment period.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide emergency interventional cardiology procedures, including stents, catheterization, and angioplasty

• Manage STEMI call coverage and handle 2-4 STEMIs from ER/clinic per day

• Conduct inpatient consults and outpatient clinic appointments

• Perform a mix of inpatient coverage and call coverage

• Utilize Cerner software for patient records and treatment planning

• Collaborate with the cardiology team to ensure optimal patient care

• Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members

• Adhere to all relevant health and safety protocols

• Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences as required

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in California

• Experience in interventional cardiology, particularly in emergency procedures, is required

• Comfortable with 24-hour call coverage and STEMI management

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
