Job Description

We are seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for a 5-day locum tenens assignment in Connecticut. This opportunity begins on Sep 10, 2025, and involves handling a range of neonatal conditions in a NICU setting. The selected candidate will work three consecutive 12-hour shifts from 7pm-7am, followed by a 24-hour shift, providing critical care to infants experiencing various medical challenges.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Attend vaginal and cesarean deliveries
  • Initial stabilization and resuscitation of newborns
  • Manage cases including prematurity-related complications, respiratory conditions, neonatal infections, cardiac conditions, neurologic concerns, and gastrointestinal issues
  • Perform airway and respiratory management such as intubations, mechanical ventilation, and CPAP/NIPPV management
  • Conduct vascular & access procedures, including umbilical line placement and peripheral IV placement
  • Manage emergent situations in the delivery room
  • Therapeutic hypothermia initiation and management

Additional Information
  • Required Board Certifications: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP); Neonatology
  • EMR System Usage: Epic
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Must hold a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
